Your challenges
Demonstrated skills in establishing and cultivating neuronal and/or stem cell cultures to test new devices, improve current protocols and increase efficiency of Ananda Devices’ processes. Extremely organized and attention to detail to maintain cell culture facility and define protocols and SOPs. Ability to work on tight deadlines and maintain high standards of work. Excellent interpersonal skills to work with our multidisciplinary team to accelerate the development of more effective and efficient biological in-vitro assays.

Duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate will work independently, with team members, to validate new in-vitro assays and establish efficient SOPs.
– Autonomously manage R&D Projects, starting from ideation to bench top
experimentation, to scale up and commercialization;
– Development and validation of cellular assays for compound evaluation;
– Contribute knowledge and skills to technical problem solving and product development activities to achieve best SOPs to maximize product efficiency;
– Contribute, as required, to laboratory management tasks (e.g. H&S, inventory, order supplies and equipment);
– Interpretation of experimental data and proposal of follow-up experiments;
– Responsible for day-to-day operation of the cell culture facility including the maintenance of neuronal and stem cell lines according to specifications for various R&D activities;
– Maintain laboratory records according to established SOPs in compliance with QMS;
– Regular communication of results and ideas to company management and
– Support the translation of customer needs into product development projects and research projects. Introduce solutions to needs/problems where appropriate;
– Supporting the technology transfer from laboratory and pilot to commercial scale;
– Assisting with written submission of patent applications and grants;
– Keeping abreast of pertinent scientific developments, including patents, providing executive summaries and comments regarding strategic impact and direction;
– Presenting original research data at industry meetings, and writing scientific papers for publication in technical journals;
– Establish laboratory’s standards, define and apply quality system procedures and participate in the implementation and improvement of quality documents;
– Provide technical support during process development and manufacturing activities.

– Degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Cell and Molecular Biology, or other disciplines relevant to the position;
– Demonstrated experience in experimental design, troubleshooting, statistical analysis, assay results interpretation;
– Demonstrated experience in neuronal and stem cell culture and microscopy imaging;
– Experience in the design and performance of in vitro cellular assays;
– Extremely organized and high level attention to detail combine with ability to manage a Biosafety Level 2 research facility and to develop safety protocols;
– Familiarity with microfluidics and lab-on-a-chip systems an asset;
– Experienced in industrial research environment preferred;
– Excellent time management skills, able to prioritize and deliver in short deadlines;
– Proven ability to execute projects through both hands-on testing and experimentation as well as project management skills and team leadership;
– Strong practical experience combined with a deep fundamental understanding of a broad range of neuroscience applications;
– Effective team player, with the ability to be independent;
– Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including report writing as well as strong problem-solving skills;
– A “roll up the sleeves” get it done attitude towards problem solving, decision-making, critical thinking, task planning and organizational skills;
