Your challenges

Demonstrated skills in establishing and cultivating neuronal and/or stem cell cultures to develop, validate and conduct in vitro assays. Extremely organized and attention to detail to ensure the good running of the cell culture facility. Ability to work on tight deadlines and maintain high standards of work. Excellent interpersonal skills to work with our multidisciplinary team to accelerate the development of more effective and efficient biological in-vitro assays.

Duties and responsibilities

The successful candidate will work independently and with team members to maintain cell cultures, conduct in vitro assays, and ensure the good running of the laboratory.

  • Maintenance of cell cultures (neurons, cell lines, iPSCs);
  • Independently run tests and analyse data;
  • Contribute to the development and validation of SOPs and protocols for new in vitro assays and products;
  • Participate in the planning and execution of in vitro assays and experiments;
  • Supporting, and collaborating with team members to meet project deliverables and timelines;
  • Contribute to reports, experimental design, technical documents;
  • Responsible for day-to-day operation of the cell culture facility;
  • Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment;
  • Maintain laboratory records and inventory;
  • Maintenance of the lab (autoclave, inventory, ordering, dishes…).

Qualifications

  • Technical degree, B.Sc or M.Sc in cell biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, neuroscience, or other disciplines relevant to the position
  • Good practice in sterile cell culture techniques
  • Experience with stem cells and/or neuronal cells, including culture, characterization and analysis
  • Experience in the performance of in vitro cellular assays;
  • Extremely organized and high-level attention to details;
  • Excellent time management skills, able to prioritize and deliver in short deadlines;
  • Effective team player, with the ability to be independent;
  • A “roll up the sleeves” get it done attitude;

Assets:

  • [strong] experience in neuronal culture and stem cell
  • Familiarity with microfluidics and lab-on-a-chip systems;
  • Biotech industry, or GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and/or GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) expertise
