Ananda Devices is a Montreal, Canada, based company that commercializes proprietary microdevices to grow human nervous system-on-a-chip to enable Pharma, Food and Cosmetic industries to perform in-vitro drug screening, toxicity and efficacy testing faster and more cost-effectively than current technologies. We help customers worldwide to comply with legislation to Reduce, Refine and Replace (3Rs) animal experimentation.We are a fast-growing company, developing and supplying unique microdevices to academic and biopharmaceutical laboratories in 13 countries.

Summary of position
Exceptional business development expertise with a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in the cosmetic, pharma and/or CRO industries and deep understanding of how to structure and negotiate licensing agreements, contracts and partnership deals to maximize success.

Duties and responsibilities
– Create business development initiatives (partnerships, collaborations, etc.) that are consistent with Ananda Devices strategic goals;
– Oversee contract and licensing negotiations with research institutions and F-500 companies, working with legal counsel as required;
– Attract new customers and maintain relationships with current customers;
– Actively involved in the strategic planning and corporate development of the organization;
– Maintains a high level of networking activities in the field and contributes to the national and international branding of Ananda Devices;
– Effectively communicate with investors, media and external stakeholders;
– Manage the company’s P&L, including setting, tracking and contributing to the attainment of revenue, expenses and operations targets;
– Collaborate with the CEO and relevant team members to set the strategy, and the related objectives and key results of each team member.

– Undergraduate degree in life science required, ideally combined with graduate studies in business or other relevant fields;
– At least 5 years of experience and a proven track record in business development, licensing, scouting, or external partnership activities with pharma, cosmetic and/or CRO industries at the global level;
– Demonstrated success in managing corporate alliances, in negotiating intellectual property and contracts;
– High level of comfort in a technology context interacting with scientist and a very good understanding of R&D in the pharma industry at the international level;
– Natural salesmanship including relevant experience in order to establish effective sales practices and processes in the organization;
– An extensive network among the pharma, cosmetic and CRO industries at the international level;
– Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary setting, foster and nurture teamwork, and act as a facilitator to drive fulfillment of corporate strategic goals;
– Willingness to travel up to 25%; the role will require some global travel (scientific conferences, partnering meetings, etc.);
– Effective stakeholder management skills and an ability to interact and build trusted relationships with all levels of employees, including senior leadership;
– Resourceful, motivated, decisive and proactive; must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-growing organization;
– A “roll up the sleeves” get it done attitude towards problem solving;
– Ability to work well independently as well as a member of multiple, integrated teams;
– Goal-oriented with comfort in setting ambitious measurable goals for others and him/herself;
– Ideally, he or she has experienced the dichotomy of both the harshness and the excitement of world of entrepreneur and or intrapreneurship;
– The ability to manage multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes;
