Your challenges

Demonstrated tool-making skills and creativity to create new devices, improve current devices, and increase the efficiency of Ananda Devices’ processes. Ability to work on tight deadlines and maintain high standards of work. Excellent interpersonal skills to work with our multidisciplinary team to accelerate the development of more effective and efficient biological in-vitro assays. Support the goals of Ananda Devices through the translation of state-of-the-art technologies into customer-friendly products.

Duties and responsibilities

The successful candidate will work independently and with team members, to prototype and manufacture microfluidic devices.

  • Design master molds for microfluidic devices (MFD) prototype
  • Develop and optimize microfluidic fabrication protocols
  • Evaluate material alternative to the current polymer for MFD production
  • Validate processes and develop a plan for quality control
  • Plan and set up tests, collect and analyze data
  • Develop new 2D and 3D structures, micro, and microfluidic designs
  • Verify and validate the microfluidic components and system functionality.
  • Design, install, configure, and calibrate instrumentation
  • Plan and set up tests, collect and analyze data;
  • Work with product and technology teams to develop the product roadmap and ensure the focus is on the right R&D initiatives;
  • Manage R&D Projects, starting from ideation, benchtop experimentation, to scale up and commercialization;
  • Support the translation of customer needs into products;
  • Efficiently analyze and present results in progress reports and meetings to drive product development decisions; Write scientific papers, patent applications, and grants;
  • Keep abreast of pertinent scientific developments, including patents, providing executive summaries and comments regarding strategic impact and direction;
  • Constantly optimize cost structures.


  • Degree or equivalent in biomedical or related engineering;
  • Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks and other CAD design tools;
  • Demonstrated experience in 3D printing;
  • Demonstrated experience working in product design and development;
  • A “roll up the sleeves” get it done attitude towards problem solving, decision-making, critical thinking, task planning and organizational skills;
  • Provide a high level of attention to detail;
  • Excellent time management skills, able to prioritize and deliver in short deadlines;
  • Comfortable working independently as well as in a team;
  • Goal-oriented with comfort in setting ambitious measurable goals for others and him/herself;
  • Experience in microfluidics, cell handling, surface chemistry and/or microfabrication will be an asset;
  • Project Management experience is an asset;
